Abstract

The drum unit hot pelletizing, combining processes of pelletizing and firing pellets, reduces the number of components and improves the quality of the pellets. The methodology for calculation the drive power of drum unit hot pelletizing was  developed. The methodology takes into account the resistance to rotation of the drum, caused by movement in the material therein, and changing the characteristics of the material (bulk density and angle of repose). Taken into account the amount of material along the length in different temperature zones: pelletizing, drying, heating, firing and cooling. This paper presents the results of calculations of the drive power unit hot pelletizing obtained using the above mentioned methodology.
