Abstract

In the article there is presented engineering method for determining the optimum tilt angle of the receiving surface to the horizon and the time interval of its adjustment according to the nature of solar radiation intensity change on the differently oriented surfaces during the day to enhance the use of solar energy potential of the location in a given period of time, that can improve the efficiency of both existing solar power installations and reduce the number of photovoltaic panels or solar collectors in the designing new ones. There are presented calculation results of the optimum tilt angle of the receiving surface for Zernograd of the Rostov region.

Keywords: solar energy potential; tilt angle; tilt angle adjustment.
