Abstract

The impossibility of local electrochemical analysis of ores containing silver in metallic form directly on the sample is established, which is associated with the presence of substances in the oxidized form that can be reduced. This leads to the appearance of false peaks on validusername. The task was to develop a methodology for the analysis of ores containing silver in metallic form.

After a number of experiments, a technique was proposed that uses the replacement of the working electrode with an indifferent one made of glass carbon, which made it possible to exclude the influence of substances capable of reduction. Having carried out a number of measurements of technically pure silver used as a standard, its effectiveness and expediency are proved. By measuring pure silver at different dissolution times, simulating different silver content, the possibility of quantifying the silver content in the ore using a calibration graph was determined. The possible influence of the surface functional groups of glass carbon on the process of silver deposition, in the form of a second peak appearing on the voltculonogram, when measuring silver in a more negative potential range, is revealed.

Keywords: indifferent electrode; voltculonogram; local electrochemical analysis; electrochemical analysis of silver ores; stripping voltammetry; surface functional groups.
