Abstract

The effectiveness of the use of inorganic coatings based on potassium silicate as electrical insulating materials in the production of magnetically soft composite materials (MSCM) from sprayed iron powders of the AIPR grades is shown. The influence of the chemical composition, concentration and method of introduction of dielectrics on the kinetics of coating formation on iron powders of different brands, as well as on their weight gain, average coating thickness, physical and technological characteristics and features of the structure formation of interlayer boundaries of MSCM is investigated. Elemental mapping using an energy dispersive microanalyzer showed that after pressing the images at a pressure of 600 MPa and subsequent heating in the range of 600–700 °C, the coating thickness changes and partial redistribution of components in the dielectric layer occurs. It is established that a distinctive feature of the compaction of coated iron powders is the predominance of structural deformation during pressing, since the coating.
